His Love

Love and acceptance are yearnings humans carry from birth. The coddling from mom and admiration from dad are only the beginnings of how we begin to feel safe and protected in our little worlds. As our horizons expand and our worlds become much bigger, the need for security and love only increases. Oftentimes girls begin at a very early age to seek out that safe place in a friend or a boy.  We search for validation and acceptance, for love and romance. Obviously, we need a little of that to keep populating the earth, but it can go dangerously beyond for some of us. The lack of confidence in ourselves can open the door to allowing ourselves to be transformed into the woman we think we should be in order to gain the approval of our partner, be it a boyfriend or spouse. The lack of knowing who we are makes the adopting of a fabricated persona so easy. We begin to trade our interests for those of others. Our taste in music, food and even our own appearance morph into those of a stranger, all in the name of “love “ and “friendship.”  Instead of being a strong, God created, intelligent being, we become weak and predictable, shallow and empty. How does that happen?

God created us with a need to be loved, and it was not a mistake. His love for us includes His desire for us to love Him back with our whole hearts, minds and souls. Through his loving kindness, he provides our needs, including those of a suitable mate and healthy friends. If we seek His love first, the love we give to and receive from others will be more beneficial. If we make decisions on who to allow into our lives based on what God would condone, we find ourselves at a great advantage. He’s like our scouting agent. Allow him to screen those you let into your sacred most personal place-your heart. I am sure I am not alone in wishing I had heeded this advice multiple times from age 14 until the present!

Know who you are. If you know Jesus, you need to know that you are loved, accepted,  a child of God, a friend of Jesus, a saint, redeemed, forgiven, free, chosen, holy, established, healed. And COMPLETE! (Colossians 2:10)These are not my words, but the words of our Holy God.

NO HUMAN will ever complete us. He wants to be your all in all. If you are empty, run into the arms of Jesus. He will never fail us or expect us to change to suit Him. Once we accept His grace and His lordship, we never need to conform to this world or its people. We rest in the fact that we are loved and we are safe. Pass this on to someone who needs to hear this today. May God be with us and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

This is the love of God. No human love can withstand these forces, but His love is UNCONDITIONAL and FOREVER! If you consider yourself a "believer," but do not truly know Jesus, start today. A relationship with Him far surpasses any religious experience or church membership. Ask Him to forgive your sins and accept His free gift of grace and the promise of heaven. It's that simple!
