As I prepare food and get the children ready for our Kuhta Christmas Extravaganza, (yea, we do everything BIG and loud!) I am reflecting on so many things family. Growing up as one of seven, the family dynamic was often chaotic, but mostly just comfortable. Sharing one bathroom and having just 3 bedrooms- mom and dad's room, the girls' room and the boys' room, made for lots of lessons in cooperation and patience. We were blessed with much love, but few resources. After Dad's death, mom was left to stretch the resources and the love. She did an amazing job! Just look at me! ha ha. Seriously though, I loved my childhood and I adore my siblings. While we are all unique, we are still very close. When conflict arises, which it inevitably does, I have been known to tell my husband that he is lucky to be an only child. But I don't mean it!
I wanted at least four children. When it seemed evident that I would have just two, I was sad. I wanted to give them lots of siblings so that they could know the same fun that I had. Funny how life throws you onto different paths. I ended up having twins and acquiring 2 stepsons at 37, and adopting another son at 44. I tied my mom with 7! What?! The blessings, the chaos and the sharing of one bathroom continues here. Half of ours are grown and on their own. The 3 remaining littles keep me moving and shaking, and I can't imagine my life being any other way. God blesses us daily and I give Him all the glory! I leave you with something I wrote for my family members this year. Have a blessed day and a Happy New Year! Family The love of family is a constant in an ever changing world. The ties that bind us are compassion, empathy and genuine concern for each member of our circle. We make ourselves available in crisis situations and clear our calendars when one of our own has a need. No matter our differences, the unconditional love we exhibit is proof positive that we are united. Our mother has passed us her gift of love, because her mother first gave it to her. As we grow older, may we grow only closer so that together we may show the love of God to a hurting world. Our heavenly Father made a way for all of us to be saved, cleansed of our sins and made new through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. His love for us is a constant companion. His extension of grace to a fallen people is evident. May we extend the same grace to each other as members of this family, and to everyone we encounter. Because by grace we have been saved, we should offer forgiveness and grace to even those who wrong us. May God richly bless you this year, and may you pass on to your children the message of Christ’s love, that they may grow to share the joys of a close knit family. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good! But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children—Psalm 103:17 Love and blessings on Christmas and every day-The Moores Christmas 2014 *Missing brother David in heaven today. He was not just a brother, he was my friend and I loved him dearly.

'Twas a few days before Christmas, And all through our home, Is chaos and rushing, But, I need to write this poem! The stockings are hung, The tree is adorned, The gifts are wrapped, And yet I feel torn. The children are snug as bugs in their beds. But just what are the visions in their heads? Are they visions of stuff- toys and candies galore? Of "What will I get?!" and "Can I have more?!" Or are they visions of the baby, Promised ages ago, Born to save us from our sinful selves, A Lord they will thirst to know? The presence of our mighty King, Is reason to celebrate, Not once a year, but every day, No matter what the date. Christmas tradition in all its glitter, Is appealing to our eyes, But the love of Jesus in our hearts, Is really what God desires. Are you committed to Almighty God, Who gave us Christ the King? Or are you merely celebrating, Parties, gifts and things? As we muddle through the next few days, Think about who you are. Is Jesus in your life, your heart? Would you follow the star? Take a bit of time today, To separate the holiday from your heart, As we stand beside an unbeliever, Can God even tell us apart? Take a moment to contemplate, The God who created us all, The one who deserves the gala, Who saved us from the fall. Harden not your hearts today, If indeed you hear His voice. Accept, trust and surrender your life. Only you can make that choice. My prayer today is for all to answer, When God calls out your name. Accept the gift of Jesus and eternal life, And your life will never be the same!! T.A. Moore In this season that we celebrate The Word becoming Flesh , may you align your thoughts, words and deeds with the will of God. Accept Him wholeheartedly as your Lord and Savior. Repent and accept forgiveness. He is mighty to save. God bless you and Merry Christmas from the Moores! And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”[a] When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. ButMary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.Luke 2:8-20 For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
